get link Since the beginning of the 2023 Online Admissions application season on Friday, July 22, 2022, a total of 748 485 Grade 1 and Grade 8 applications had been successfully registered by Friday, according to the GDE. The GDE Online Admissions System showed a total of 323 294 applications for Grade 1 and 448 168 applications for Grade 8 as of this morning. The overall number of applications now stands at 748 485. The GDE further stated that applications for Grade 1 and/or Grade 8 that are made without any documents submitted or uploaded will be considered incomplete and will only receive placement offers at schools with available space from 1–15 December 2022. The GDE further stated that the documents cannot be uploaded on the system after August 19, 2022, the date the 2023 Online Admissions application period ends. During the placement period from 3 October 2022 to 31 October 2022, parents and guardians will start getting SMSes with placement offers after submitting an application. Within seven school days, these placement offers must be accepted. Offers will be delivered to the parents’ mobile numbers they provided on the application.  Therefore, after applying, parents are reminded not to change or lose their phone numbers.
