At around 3 o’ clock on Monday, paramedics from ER24 and Vereeniging Fire Department attended the scene where they found a light motor vehicle and a bakkie that crashed head-on in Sonlandpark Vereeniging.

Both occupants from the light motor vehicle were found with serious injuries. They were still trapped in the car, and the Vereeniging Fire Department used rescue tools to set them free from the wreckage.

An emergency medical helicopter airlifted both occupants to a hospital in the south of Johannesburg. The driver of the bakkie made it out alive and was found walking on the scene.
