President Cyril Ramaphosa’s had announced that South Africa is officially under ajusted lockdown level 1 and these are the adjustments in numbers:
*50% capacity of a small venue allowed to accommodate people indoors.
*33 land border posts will remain closed during Alert Level 1.
*20 land border posts that remain open during Alert Level 1.
*5 airports open for international travel, with standard infection control measures.
*There are about two million South Africans using the COVID Alert SA mobile app by 28 February 2021.
*More than one-and-a-half million people in South Africa are infected with the Coronavirus Disease since March 2020 until now.
*There are nearly 50 000 people in South Africa reported to have died from the disease, by 28 February 2021.
*More than 67 000 health workers have been vaccinated by 28 February 2021.
*80 000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrived in the country on 27 February 2021.
*There are 17 vaccination sites by 28 February 2021.
*Under 10 000 new infections South Africa recorded in the week before 28 February 2021.
*Over 40 000 new cases South Africa recorded in the last week of January 2021.
*There are close to 90 000 new cases South Africa recorded in the last week of December 2020.
*100 is the maximum number of people allowed at any indoor gathering.
*250 is the maximum number of people allowed at any outdoor gathering.
*There are 11 million doses to be secured from Johnson & Johnson.
*There are 2,8 million Johnson & Johnson doses to be delivered in the second quarter and the rest spread during the year.
*There are 20 million doses secured from Pfizer, to be delivered from the second quarter of 2021.
*There are 12 million vaccine doses secured from the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) facility.
*More than one-and-a-half million people in South Africa are infected with the Coronavirus Disease since March 2020, by 28 February 2021.
*There are 11 million doses to be secured from Johnson & Johnson.
*There are close to 90 000 new cases that South Africa recorded in the last week of December 2020.
Even under this adjusted level 1 of the lockdown, citizens are advised to observe the covid-19 protocols by wearing masks, sanitizing their hands and maintain a social distance of at least 1.5 metres.
