It was a phenomenal start for the hosting nation, Cameroon when they beat Burkino Faso 2-1 in the opening match of African Cup Of Nation (AFCON) on Sunday.

However, Cameroon had to put in the work before they obtained their victory against the stubbon Burkino Faso. Burkino Faso were the first to take the lead but the host came back very strongly and they were rewarded for their hard work when they scored from a penalty spot which led them to equalise.

Burkino Faso conceeded another penalty which saw Cameroon took the lead for the first time in the evening. However, Burkino Faso remained steadfast as they threw everything to the much supported host nation.
