The deceased was reportedly shot multiple times by a tenant who dwells in the same yard. Pitso’s cousin Tshepo Nketu said he believed that his brother’s murder was senseless.
“I received a call about my brother’s shooting in the early hours of Monday morning and rushed to his place. On arrival, I found the gates locked. The neighbours told me that the suspect had fetched my brother from a local spot where he had been watching soccer on Sunday.”
A recording that the brother heard reveals the final details before the death of the deceased. “In the recording that my brother left, the suspect is heard barging into my brother’s room moments later and accusing my brother of gossiping about him around the neighbourhood but it is not clear what the issue was.”
Nketu said his brother was shot several times during the confrontation.
He is shocked as the suspect who shot his brother was his brother’s close friend. He is still shocked as to what changed changed between them.
Police Spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed that the incident took place on 12 December 2021. A suspect has been arrested and will be appearing in court soon.
Pitso will be laid to rest in Lesotho.
