The Municipal Manager, Lucky Leseane, has been placed by the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), under precautionary suspension. The municipality announced that the decision was made during the special meeting of the council which was held on Thursday.
ELM Spokesperson, Lebo Mofokeng said this came after numerous reports given to the council regarding the poor performance as well as misconduct of Mr. Leseane. Thabo Ndlovu is appointed as the acting Municipal Manager until further notice.
