The South African Police Services has recorded 32 525 positive cases, 30 955 recoveries and 672 deaths. This drive will focus on members who are 60 years and older, members with co-morbidities and those who are vulnerable to the virus.
The SAPS management has expressed its satisfaction in the number of police officers who obeyed the call to get vaccinated at the launch of the SAPS Vaccination site which was established in Orange Farm in recent weeks. The campaign was led by the Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele, alongside the Acting Minister of Health, Mamoloko Kubayi and the National Commissioner of Police General Khehla Sitole. All of them were excited to be part of the drive to get vaccinated.
The SAPS is working closely with the main stakeholders and medical aid partners which have secured and prepared 108 vaccination sites nationwide and an abundant registration system for members.
