The parents of two sons in their 20s have been seriously injured and their pregnant daughter-in-law sustained lesser injuries.
This happened when their minibus collided with a red VW Polo at the intersection of the R42 and Ascot on Vaal Road in Bedworth Park, Vereeniging on Saturday night. The paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene with the necessary authorities.
The parents, who are in their forties, were found to have suffered serious injuries and were treated with Advanced Life Support interventions. The daughter-in-law, who is in her early 20s and pregnant, had difficulty getting out of the bus, but had only suffered minor injuries. On the other hand, the two sons declined treatment and transport.
The three injured patients were then transported through to Vereeniging Mediclinic for further care. The driver of the VW Polo was nowhere to be found at the scene but the South African Police Services (SAPS) were on sight for investigation.
