About 555 new deaths have been recorded. This brings the COVID-19 death toll in the country to over 43,000.

In terms of infections, more than 7000 people have been infected with COVID-19, taking the total number of active cases to over 122,000.

KwaZulu-Natal continues to be the province with the highest number of active COVID-19 cases with over 45,000, followed by the Western Cape with over 18,000 cases and the Gauteng province is third position with just over 17,000 cases.
