Newly founded organisation “Box of hope’’, founded by youngsters from Sharpeville will bring hope to disadvantaged boys and girls mainly from informal settlements in the Vaal.
The aim of Box of hope is to provide the young people with a box filled with essential items on a monthly basis. The founders Katleho Malaka (24) and Naledi Mile (27) say the objective for their campaign is to reach 200 boys and girls and assist them with toiletries and sanitary towels.
Mile who is a teacher by profession, introduced the idea to Malaka after seeing how many kids are in need of such products through the work that she does. It was then that the two decided to fund the project from their own pockets.
“Currently, we are asking the community to help us by donating toiletries so that we can make Box of hope bigger and better for the benefit of our young boys and girls.”
Community members or businesses willing to offer their assistance can contact Box of hope on 0747547578/0766030255.
