The Emfuleni Local Municipality’s operations were stopped immediately on Monday the 4th of January 2021 when the ANC supporters refused to grant the workers access to enter the municipal offices in Vanderbijlpark and caused chaos.

Garbage was scattered on the roads, sewage water was running and some windows of the offices were broken. All service delivery was halted. Some areas such as Bonane and Stefanopark had no power for a period of about five days. Other parts of Vanderbijlpark did not have water.

The FF Plus communicated with the residents of these areas to purchase an electric cable due to the power cuts. Power was restored on Tuesday the 5th of January 2021. The FF is now in discussions with the speaker of the municipality, Maipaoto Tsokolibane to find ways that will ease and eventually end the situation.
